Back at Cabela’s in Nanaimo there are gates between the gun sales counters that needed new latches. I designed them based on a rifle’s bolt mechanism.


The bodies were made from thick walled tube joined with a square base welded and blended

Here is the stainless bolt being turned to diameter. This Sheldon lathe was originally purchased by the Dept. of Lands and Forests in Victoria in 1948. Still an excellent piece of equipment.
